Once again DeWitt Charter Township, the City of DeWitt and DeWitt Area Recreation Authority (DARA) have joined together to create a joint five-year Parks and Recreation Plan. This plan is an important document in setting the direction and priorities for parks and recreation in our shared communities. Additionally, by having an adopted parks and recreation plan, it allows the City and Township to apply for State grants. A critical component of creating a plan is to receive citizen input. Below is a survey that will take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. The data recorded from these surveys will be incorporated into the 2015-2020. Your input is critical! The last adopted plan served as a guideline to improve recreation facilities and develop new recreational opportunities within the DeWitt Community. Some of the actions that the City of DeWitt, DeWitt Charter Township and DARA have taken to implement the 2010 - 2014 Plan include: • Adoption of the 2013 DeWitt Township Non-Motorized Transportation Plan • Construction of a canoe/kayak launch at Riverside Park • Construction of a canoe/kayak launch and parking lot improvements at Looking Glass Riverfront Park • Construction of the Miracle League Baseball Field at Valley Farms Park Thank you for your input.
