Once again, Floyd County is failing its children. A father, who saw signs of abuse, took the strength and courage to report it. Not just to one facility but to the police, DFACS and took that extra step to take the child to the pediatrician. After the bruises were found to be consistent from coming from something like an electrical cord, DFACS took the child from the mother and gave dad temporary custody. Yeah! Not so quick. Mom decides dad is harassing her so she asks for a tpo. The judge saw fit to not only order it, but to send the child BACK to the mom and abuser. Grandma knows some people and got the caseworker changed. Does this sound like protection?! When our dear sheriff department went to get the child to return her to the mom, the grandparents spoke up. The mention of Ellas name made one say dont go there. Well, yeah, he went there, and so am I. This is insanity! This abuser is suspect in another fatal abuse case. What is happening with our system? The dad cant even have police do a welfare check on his child, because he will be in violation of the tpo and go to jail. Another judge will hear this case next Friday. I pray this judge makes the decision in the best interest of the child, and not who the mothers own mother knows. I have a hard time calling these females mothers. A mother protects her child..a grandmother that puts a child back in the situation doesnt deserve the title of grandmother..in the meantime, Im wondering if its an open hearing..hmmm
