Once again a tragedy has struck the law enforcement community really close to home for many of my friends. Without knowing much, other than from my friends on here, last evening, during shift change, in front of a PSP Barracks, two officers were shot. They were simply standing there. One getting ready to head home, the other coming to work. The assailant/s or coward/s did not stand there and do this, but came by and shot. They have now shattered the lives of so many people, especially the lives of the families of these two officers, the ones who laid down their lives each and every day to protect ours. That is the only thing they did, along with wear the uniform proudly. It scares the hell out of me. I have friends that are officers, that are spouses of officers, that date them, that are children of them. I worked with them and helped to protect them for years and each and every day I still pray for them as they walk out onto the street. I have no doubt the cowards will be caught, I pray they will get the full brunt of the law. I hope now, people realize why I stand by these men and women with full and unwavering support. They were my family for years and are still family to this day. To all my friends and family within the thin blue line, stand strong and watch each others back, stay vigilant and please come home safe.
