Once again another shooting and the righties/gun nuts going on about how it occurred in a gun-free zone, showing their ignorance of reality. Does Chicago have tough gun laws? Yes. Does that mean it is hard to get a gun in Chicago? No. So why is it not hard to get a gun in Chicago? Variety of reasons, one their is a demand due to the high crime in the inner city. This is because of a variety of socioeconomic factors. Mainly because if you are born in an area like this your chances of getting out economically are slim to none. So that is the demand, where does the supply come from. Well the problem is no one really knows for sure, but why is that? Because the gun nut lobby has successfully managed to block funding for studies to try and track where the guns are coming from. There is a reason the ATF has not had a director for years till recently, the gun nut lobby has prevented it time and time again. They also manage to get stuff stuck in un-related legislation that hamstrings law-enforcement in their investigations as to where these guns come from. Most think that the majority of guns used in gang related crimes are bought legally in some state with lax gun laws, or gun shows, by ‘legal’ purchasers who then bring them to the inner city and sell illegally at a large profit. So then the question becomes, why does the gun-nut lobby want to ‘protect’ actions like this by limiting law-enforcement from investigating where these guns are coming from? It is obvious they want the world to be ignorant of what is going on, but why? That answer is unclear, but my theory is the gun-nut lobby is looking out for one thing, gun-manufacturer profits, not limiting gun violence. The rightie/gun nuts need to take a lesson in objective analysis, but it seems as if they are only interested in being ignorant and finding ways to take digs at Obama.
