Once again, may not be the popular opinion but.. I think when people commit suicide we need to stop saying things like Youre in a better place now or that they finally escaped their demons. How does that sound to people who are borderline suicidal and just need that last push? Apparently there were five seperate suicides last night in Edmonton alone. After everything that was said about Robin Williams yesterday, if I were in that position I would be thinking Well if hes in a better place, maybe if I did that I could escape my demons too... Depression definitely a touchy but very real subject that needs to be talked about. For people to choose to take their own life becauseits better on the other side.. that just blows my mind. We need to realize that no matter what, the words we choose in any situation affect everyone out there. People are scared or embarrassed to ask for help when the thoughts come into their head, and they take the words that they hear and read about regarding other suicides as advice for their own situation. Theres no quick fix for this and I know some people will disagree, its just a tough situation and leaves me heartbroken for the five families in Edmonton.
