Once again we find ourselves at the end of another year and many of us ask the same question that we ask year after year “Where did the year go?” And I am right there with you all. There are times when I allow myself to get lost in my thoughts, and I can’t help but smile as I look back on all that has happened over the past year. When 2014 started, I would have never imagined that 12 months later I would find myself happily married to my best friend and expecting our first child together. Now as I sit here in the 2nd bedroom (that was originally was going to be the home office/studio for us), glancing over at the armoire filled with baby clothes, and the new crib just to my right and soon to be occupied with our son in less than 8 weeks. I look over at my wife as she types away at her keyboard making sure that her last posts to her site are insightful, humorous and thought-provoking, then over to our sleeping pups, Maggie and Lola, and think to myself “Damn, this has been one hell of a year for us!” Now as 2014 comes to a close and 2015 is knocking at the front door, I’m looking forward to experience all that 2015 will bring us. I’m anxious to take on the new challenges, to enjoy the new adventures and I’m excited with the new addition to our growing pack. Husband, father and happy all in one sentence, and all to describe where I am…right here…right now. So as I say goodbye to 2014 and wait to greet 2015, I sit here typing, feeling grateful, feeling humbled and feeling incredibly fortunate.
