Once in a while I get up on a soapbox and rant about something that I feel is important. Pardon me as I step up on my box again!!! Its a sad day for America when other countries have lost respect for us as a democracy because of the way we have become as a nation. I for one am sick and tired of Americans belittling our country through insults and gross misrepresentations. All this hate mongering we are spewing out about this and that is very unproductive and leads other nations to look at us with disrespect and this opens the doors for people like ISIS to feel that they can attack, kidnap and kill our citizens with no repercussions. I know we have the rights to speak up and that is an amazing freedom to have. I also know that just because you have that right does not mean you should exercise it to the point that you damage and desecrate the United States of America. And for those that disagree with what our nation stands for and are dumb enough to turn to treason and go fight with terrorists I say Good Riddance!!! You have taken advantage of the rights of a U.S. citizen and now you throw it in our faces. For shame! I am proud to be a U.S. citizen and I would never live any where else. Our nation is not perfect for there is no such thing as perfection, but it is and always will be a work in progress. When we attack our government and its officials we are doing exactly what others want us to do. You dont bring down a democracy by attacking from without but by planting seeds of hate and doubt and letting that fester and breed discontent from within. I challenge all of you that read this to not let this happen. Instead of condemning and pointing fingers, be the person that stands up and supports our nation as faulted as it is. Be the one that works to improve and seeks to help make this nation better so we can leave it in better shape for our descendants. Dont fall into the trap that has been set by others who want to see us fail. Although I may not agree with everything our president does at least he is trying to make this nation better and I will stand behind him because he is the President of the United States.
