Once in a while a very special event will occur, & that event will take place on this Wednesday night. It will commence at 6pm in Tescos Carpark when a fleet of buses will be lined up to take 100s of people up to the equivalent of Irelands Carnegie Hall The National Concert Hall in Dublin. I can imagine the Craic going up on the bus. On arrival at the concert hall you will be greeted by Arklows Celtic Piper Anthony Byrne who has just returned home from a very successful tour of the US with the Celtic Womens Tour, Anthony will also entertain in the Foyer of the concert Hall during the Interval. Then what you will be greeted with at 8pm what can only be described as The Wow Factor. We all know how talented the Penston Girls are but they have also secured an embarrassment of talent for this one off show, including Irelands Eurovision Drummer, Veronica Dunnes main piano player members of the Garda Band Arklow Silver & Niamh O Connor & friends on strings, also thrown in to rock things up are electric &Bass guitars & Keyboards, not to mention the other prize winning singing friends they have worked with over the years.If you think it might not be your thing then you would be mistaken because as well as songs from Musical Theatre & a bit of Opera you will also hear a swing section & even a bit of Queen will feature on the night. So far over 700 have booked tickets so dont be one of those people who are sorry on Thursday when they hear what a cracking night they missed out on. I think Kavanaghs & Bentleys are sold out but there are some left if you log on to NCH.ie but dont leave it too late. It maybe too late for to book the bus however as you must have a prepaid bus ticket to travel, but you can always try on 0872567494. I really feel this is going to be one of those nights that if your seated beside someone from Dublin or Wexford you will be proud to announce that your from Arklow.
