Once these massive min-choppers are converted to quads, then their operations could be self coordinated through ad-hoc wifi, etc. I could see these being used for rescue at some point in the future. Why quads? Well, its one thing to lift a model, quite another thing to lift someone my size. Why coordinated? Because then lifting capacity and maneuvering is basically unlimited. Also, you would never lift someone with rings, you would lift them via a net, or a basket, even if the net/basket had to be snapped together. Flight time wont matter for a lot of uses (like rescue) because you can be on a ship or at the top of a bluff, send the units down, and if you need more juice just land them and swap battery packs in seconds. Drones really are the future of robotics.
