Once upon a time, I used to admire Mandera County senator Hon Billow Kerrow. Those are the days he used to reason. Methinks he no longer reasons. Just read the nonsense hes written herein below in the name of a press statement; PRESS STATEMENT; By Billow Kerrow; i am surprised that there are leaders in Jubillee who are plotting to sanction or tame the House Majority Leader Aden Duale because of his stand on the harassment of his people in Eastleigh. Duale and most of the leaders from the predominantly Muslim regions in Jubilee are not happy with the approach used by the government in combating terrorism in Nairobi, not in the least because it targets a certain community and the operations are largely done in a manner inconsistent with the laws of the country. The leaders, Duale included, however support the governments efforts to weed out criminals in the society. This is a view we shall stand by at all times. As leaders from this community, we have an obligation to stand with them when their rights are infringed. In 2007 post-election violence, Uhuru was on record using the same terms, that they will defend their community, meaning the Kikuyus. At the same time, when thousands of Kalenjin youth were arrested, all their leaders including the Deputy President vented their anger demanding their immediate release. Ours is no different! Those who think we are in Jubilee as guests should know that we are not going anywhere and will do whatever it takes to claim our stakes in the government that we helped bring to power. Busy bodies from whatever quotas should not entertain any thoughts of sanctiong Duale, who for most part has been the most vocal defender of this government. He cannot be right when he fights for defense of Uhuru and Ruto against their persection but be wrong when he stands up for his community. But I urge these detractors to bring it on! Regards Hon Billow Kerrow Senator, Mandera County Chair, Finance, Commerce & Economic Affairs Committee
