Once upon a time there was a family who started a humble little coffee spot in Hartfords Frog Hollow neighborhood. That family served fair trade, organic coffee from Puerto Rico, Central and South America. Not because we were super duper knowledgeable about the concepts, but because we believed in the spirit and we wanted to offer the best possible coffees to our customers. One of our long time customer/apostles :) Jose Rene, became a total coffee convert and purchased the roaster that roasted our Yauco Selecto coffee. He bought it with a similar commitment to creating the best possible cup of coffee for the customer. He has re-branded and moved from a small roasting space to his own full service coffeespace right on Park Road across from Quaker Diner. Years later, J.René Coffee Roasters is going strong and has recently been listed as the best Coffee Shop in the state by Business Insider. Felicidades Jose Rene!! businessinsider/best-coffee-shops-in-the-us-2014-7?op=1
