Once you start playing music, you never look at music in the same - TopicsExpress

Once you start playing music, you never look at music in the same way as you did before you became a musician. This is certainly true for me and I suspect it is for others too, especially late bloomers like me. Thanksgiving day, I saw the movie Polar Express...again...Ive seen it before, but musically, yeah, there were songs in it, so what? This, however, was the first time I had seen it since Ive started playing an instrument. Something about this song just hit me. A sweet melody...and a chord progression that seemed manageable. Whoa! Am I really saying this? Four years ago it was not even a realistic thought to do what I am doing several times a week. Now I hear a song, like how it feels, and either learn that song, adapt it to my instrument and abilities, or use it as an inspiration for a song for me to write. I really like how this song flows. Ive found music, but it doesnt fit, so...youll see. In the meantime, enjoy this song.
