One day in 1987, I was walking my mother out to Belvedere. Yes, 3 year old me walking my mother out to catch a van. At that time I was an Infant 1 student @ Brighton Methodist School. My mother kept telling me to go back to (Brighton) village. Eventually, I adhered. On my way back, a Ju-C truck passed me & hit a bump in the road. Cases of Ju-C fell off & one (or several) bottles hit me and gashed my forhead. I dont even know why Im telling this story. Its just the story I am thinking of at 1:15am. Someone sent word for my mother so she would know what happened to me. I dont remember much of that day but I know she was by my side while I was getting stitches shortly after the incident @ Enhams clinic. Tonight, I was at my house door in tears - and my mommy was there again. No matter where life has taken me or where it will take me. No matter how flawed I am. No matter who comes and goes, my mommy is always by my side. As short a time as I have been in my job, when children who were referred about home problems, come to me, I always ask them - Do you think mommy loves you?. You would be surprised to hear the answers. My mother did not have much in life when she gave me birth, but Lord, I cannot take away the care, the love, the effort & the encouragement she has given to me in my 3 decades on Earth. I can survive & get over almost anything because heck - I have that one single loyal person in my life - but I pray that Jesus continues to be a fence because my life without my mother would be a living hell! Today, I want to wish her a very happy happy happy birthday!!!!! I love you beyond any measure mommy. No matter what I say or do, deep inside Im soooo grateful for you! You have seen & heard every single flaw in & of me and you redefined every last one of them and continue to make me(& Osreah), your world! I wish many more prosperous, successful & happy years on this Earth! You surely deserve them!
