One day when my youngest son Nick was barely old enough to talk, he said I crawled out of Gods hand so that you could be with me. I remember it well, because he was too young to have any meaningful understanding of God, and because he didnt say ...so I could be with you. His statement implied an action he had taken in response to a need he had perceived on my part that would be met by our being together. Of course, that wouldve meant that he not only was able to observe me prior to being born, but that he had created an emotional attachment and was able to choose to be born into my life in order to fill that need. I thought at the time his statement was extraordinary, but Nick has been with me through the most difficult times of my life, and given me strength on more occasions than I can remember. Weve also shared many of my happiest times together. I believe he really did crawl out of Gods hand to be with me.
