One final post about yesterdays big rescue in the Tillamook State - TopicsExpress

One final post about yesterdays big rescue in the Tillamook State Forest. This operation was truly a team effort that was more than just one person or agency. Throughout the call dispatchers from WCCCA worked amazingly to handle requests from our team, relay information, and coordinate the response of the various agencies. During the rescue our firefighters worked alongside paramedics from Metro West as well as a County Sheriff Deputy and an Oregon State Trooper to provide critical care to the patient, interview witnesses so we knew exactly what happened, and help get the injured man to the helicopter. The Oregon State Forestry and Oregon State Corrections Department South Fork Prison Camp had two crews on scene primarily to do the heavy work of pulling the inured man out if needed but they also opened up the trail and area so our crews could work safely. Finally, and obviously, the Coast Guard played the big part and got into a very tight situation with utmost bravery to save a mans life. On top of it all the remaining surveyor crew did a wonderful job of staying cool, hiking in and out to to show us where their injured co-worker was, and helped clear the brush at the scene of the accident so we could work comfortably. This was truly teamwork at its finest and shows how much work goes into a high stress incident like this. Thank you to everyone who came together yesterday and pulled this off!
