One final red guitar for the record - a real archtop this time. This is my Ibanez AG95. Its smaller than other jazzboxes with a 14.5 lower bout, but once it found its voice it became a dark and mellow instrument. Out of the box, it required quite a bit of work on its neck, frets, and intonation, and I switched in a bone nut. But its a guitar I trust now, and Ive learned a lot from it. Lately Ive found some limitations to its pickups, but I think thats simply because Ive become more fussy and if I switch in a set of Classic 57s perhaps itll give me some warmth that I think might be there. But its great value - well built and very pretty, too.
