One final thing to consider for tomorrows March Against Corruption: Think of the 3 most important issues that you believe our government needs to reform. Education? Immigration? Marriage Equality? Taxes? Tort Reform? Healthcare? Healthy food/crops? ... Understand this: Nothing will be significantly reformed UNTIL the influence of money in our election system is greatly reduced AND until our election system is reformed. Why: special interest groups, corporations, and other 3rd party entities that presently have massive influence over your Congress members, President, state legislators, governors, and local politicians will prevent common sense solutions from happening if it means their interests will be jeopardized. Our state and federal legislatures will continue to be dysfunctional and polarized, unwilling to compromise, and continue to paint our country as a divided Red vs. Blue map, when in fact the majority of America is moderate/purple (the combination of the 2 colors), valuing solutions over party politics. As long as money can buy elections and influence legislation, as long as our election system produces a General Election choice for voters of Extreme/uncompromising Dem. vs. Extreme/uncompromising Republican, and as long as we continue to have gerrymandered districts, voter oppression, and ignored votes, nothing will change! So if you ever want YOUR most important things improved for you and generations to come, we have to first end the legal form of corruption in our political system. One step at a time. It starts tomorrow! • What: Come to learn, to share, and to find out how to take action to reduce the influence of money in politics and reform our election system. This is just the beginning, but it starts with like-minded people coming together and committing to action steps. Bring signs if you have them, and any information that you would like to share with other attendees that contribute to solutions. • Why: To restore the power and focus of government back to We the People (the first 3 words of our US Constitution). • Who: You and other community members who want change! So Like, Share, and comment to spread the word!
