One killed in Rohini road crash Kurseong, 1 January: One Norgay Sherpa, 14, a resident of Upper Mamring in Darjeeling, was killed when the vehicle he was travelling in overturned on Rohini Road around 5 km away from Kurseong town at around 7 pm this evening. It is learnt that the Savari vehicle carrying picnickers from Upper Mamring Busty was returning from the Dudhia picnic spot under the Kurseong sub division area when it met with the accident near Zero Point. Several other passengers who were injured were taken to the Kurseong Sub Divisional Hospital, where six persons, including Sunil Mukhia, 22, Manchalay Tamang, 16, Sanjay (driver) and Manitay Mangrati, were admitted. Altogether, 18 people had been travelling in the vehicle when the accident occurred. sns
