One last nights sleep before the scariest, most emotional,and most daunting project I have ever undertaken. Initially embarked upon to coincide with the 1st anniversary of a beautiful lady whom I was proud and lucky to call Mum, and to provide a distraction/grief therapy of sorts, Forget Me Not has absolutely succeeded as an amazing Alzheimers fundraiser. It has been a huge team effort, and were almost there. Thank you to my Dad, my hero. My girls, Amy Penston and Leah Penston for sharing the project every step of the way, and being so talented and so inspiring on every level. God knows when well share the stage again, as your gifts take you out into the big world and beyond. My lovely sister and friend, Sinead Rees, joining us for a beautiful medley of songs our mother taught us...forever close to our hearts. My inimitable, fabulous brother, Colm, of Kavanaghs Wexford Road Arklow our MC for the night. Always the way with the words..Mum would have been so proud. But, all the stage stuff aside, what help we have had along the way!!! In particular, from Yvonne Kenny, Brendan Sheehy, Sallyann Mcdonald,and Treasa Walker, Avonmore MusicalSociety, Jim Furlong, Colm Moules, Karen Kavanagh, Michelle Dillon , such sterling, positive driving force behind the project. I will never be able to thank you all enough. And now, to share the stage with the most amazing and talented family and friends a girl could wish for, for such a wonderful cause. ALMOST SOLD OUT!!, and a sizeable sum raised so far. What a feeling!! Thank you all - the talented front line, Jackie Olohan, Maggs Jacob Tony Carty, James McDermott, Chris Currid, David Latham, Seán Hendley, Brian OGorman, The Penston Vocal Academy. Our amazing MD, Dermot OCallaghan, Our 30 - piece Big Band, (Including Arklow Silver, whom Id be here all night tagging!) All offering incalculable hours of hard work and dedication free of charge for Alzheimers Services. Eternal love, gratitude and respect to you all. Now, lets enjoy every minute xxx
