One last post, although I could NEVER find an Academic Job, guess the Academy did not think I am good enough, I do have a few students who think my work is important! So sharing this letter, I feel Proud and honored that this student, went out and verified what I stated in my Dissertation. My answer is of course, it is why I do what I do. :) Mel, Howve you been? I havent really touched base in a while. I hope things are going pretty well. Ill be graduating soon. Not sure what my job prospects are at this time; well see. Im attaching the dissertation drafts that went out to my committee for the final review. I defend on April 4. The dissertation fell short of my own expectations, but the only way to make it stronger would be to spend another semester in grad school. Ill do much better to cut and run, and just write a better book or some better articles. Also, I might be able to write a book about some of this stuff. Ill be proposing a book to Tom King soon, who is an editor on a new series for University of Alabama Press looking for younger and unpublished scholars talking about problems with and solutions for consultation. -------- already said hes on board. Would you have any interest in being involved--including possibly co-authorship, or a related conference panel, or what-have-you? Anyway, if you have the time and inclination, Id very much appreciate your thoughts on any of these. However, please dont feel obligated. I think my next step will be to write a couple of articles derived from some of the ideas contained in these chapters. I can keep in touch about the idea if you like.
