One last thing.... Heres what this is about, and what we did last year... 9th Annual Klussmann King of the Beach Benefit Volleyball Tournament Dear Klussmann KOTB supporter, On May 17th, 2014, for the 9th year, we are holding the Klussmann King of the Beach benefit volleyball tournament at Chipper’s Lanes in Ft. Collins, CO. As a member of the volleyball community, or as a member of the Northern Colorado community, we thank you for your support in helping us raise money for our friend and inspiration, Andy Klussmann. Andy is a beloved member of the Northern Colorado volleyball community as a former CSU assistant coach and a NORCO club volleyball coach. His life was changed forever on Father’s Day 2004 when an uninsured drunk driver took the life of his wife and left him with a traumatic brain injury and two boys to care for. Since that time Andy has been an inspiration to the Ft. Collins community with his dedication to the boys and with his dedication to the sport that he loves, volleyball. Andy continues to coach youth players and share his experiences to help them believe that NO OBSTACLE is too tough to overcome. Our benefit tournament has historically been a fundraiser that we donated 100% of the proceeds directly to Andy to help him with the boys, to take them fishing, or just help out with some bills. It was a grass roots tournament held each year as a way to help support and to say THANK YOU to Andy and his family. Last year we announced that we incorporated (pending final approval) as a non-profit, 501( c)(3) organization now known as Colorado Volleyball Charities. All donations are now tax deductible, and greatly appreciated. Colorado Volleyball Charities will be donating proceeds of the tournament to Andy Klussmann, and at Andy’s request, to fund club volleyball scholarships for youth players. Last year Colorado Volleyball Charities was able to donate $1325 to Andy and his boys as well as raising $1700 for club volleyball scholarships. We rely on the generous donations from the Ft. Collins area and from the Colorado volleyball community to help us reach the goals of helping out those in need in the volleyball community and raising funds to help kids play volleyball. ANY donation is GREATLY appreciated. We appreciate your time and hope that you will consider donating to this years’ tournament. Please feel free to contact either myself or Chris Thomas, the tournament director with any additional questions that you may have. Our contact information is located below. Thank you, in advance, for your caring. We look forward to a day of great quality volleyball and fundraising for our friend and inspiration Andy. Sincerely, Alex Turner, Donations coordinator, Chris Thomas, Tournament Director alexturnerdvm@yahoo, 303-717-7720 runvolley@msn, 970-222-5563
