One more Dewey Dog story and I am done. Unless he does something else... I had a late appointment tonight at 7. So after work, we locked Dewey inside the office (dont frown, I left his favorite show on TV-the Waltons- and he can watch it from his bed on top of my desk) and Dennis and I went to eat. When we came back an hour later, the happy dog celebration was as though I had been gone a week. Dennis was taking one car and he and Dewey were going to go home and I was going to my appointment. Did I mention that Dewey Dog cannot stand to be away from me for a minute? I feel guilty when I go to the restroom without him! He was already suspicious because we had not taken him out to eat with us. He knows that when Dennis puts the leash on, it means only one thing--Dennis is taking him away from me. So Dennis cant catch Dewey to put the leash on him. After chasing him around and around a chair, Dennis finally says he wont let me put the leash on, you have to do it! So he hands me the leash and Dewey runs right to me and I clip it on as he tries to play bite the leg with me. We were talking, so I let the leash drop on the floor and when Dennis tried to pick up the leash, Dewey ran behind me. Dennis went left, Dewey went left. Dennis went right, Dewey went right. They circled me as I laughed at the absurdity of the situation. Dennis says, you are going to have to get him for me Susan, and I reached down and picked up the leash of a very wagging Dewey Dog! He immediately began to pull me to the door UNTIL..... I handed the leash to Dennis. Four dog brakes went on as Dennis dragged him, him looking over his shoulder at me. I couldnt take it, he has trained me well. I took the leash and he happily trotted with me to the car. When I slammed the door he knew he had been had! The last thing I saw was his face in the car window. I felt depressed. Boy what a celebration I got when I got home!!! I am forgiven.
