One more about lifes twists and turns. My oldest was fortunately accepted by a large private christian school, after a minor infraction at the public school, in the turbulent days following her mothers death. My daughter is not a believer in Christian Doctrine, necessarily, but we had to go somewhere. They have to wear uniforms and listen to Creation Science, which is no big plus for her. Still, they are sweet kind people that gave her another chance, when all else slammed their doors under zero tolerance statutes. Me, I love Christians, true ones, that is. So, previously I described her personality tarantula like, guarded. You know the way some people are. I started to say women, then corrected myself. When we went to pick her up one day my middle daughter, Boomer, the Cheerleader, surveyed the Christian crowd. She said Impossible to Rock the Khakis. Kids can be hilarious. A sea of dorks. When I picked Evey up today, I said so hows it goin? She otherwise would not have mentioned it. She said My creative writing teacher picked me and two others, from all her classes, to feature works we have done, and a new one for the Contest, at Troy State University, next month. I said Out of how many students? She said a lot. It makes me cry. Life does redeem itself.
