One more day of a hot and humid conditions and then we can enjoy some drier air for the weekend, though it may come with a price tag. Thunderstorms will become likely this afternoon and into this evening, and there is a solid threat for severe weather. Damaging winds, extremely heavy rains, vivid lightning, and yes even an isolated spin up type tornado are all possibilities today but the main concern will be damaging winds. Extreme instability coupled with favorable wind fields should allow storms to become efficient wind producers. One fly in the ointment is if storms fire off too early, than our severe threat will be somewhat diminished. Storms are possible anytime after 12, but the best likelihood will be between 5-12.
