One more word on the subject of the Hall of Fame. On track performance is a key component, but historical importance to the sport also plays a part. For those wondering about a female inductee, Louise Smith would be very deserving based on her modified career and her impact on the sport. For those wondering why Curtis Turner isnt in...hey, right there with you! Lets keep his name out there and keep reminding people of what he did on and off the track for the sport! It is up to us as fans to keep these classic drivers, crew chiefs, owners, engine builders, officials, and other NASCAR figures in the public consciousness. We saw them. We read about them. We stood and cheered for them in the stands. We worked with them. Now we have to teach the next generation about them so they wont be forgotten and will be honored properly. Thats on us, gang.
