One never knows where the next turn in this journey of life will take you. Out of the routine of ordinary life, the extraordinary has happened. Tyler and I met each other, fell in love, had a commitment ceremony several years ago and have decided to finalize it with a legal wedding surrounded by several friends and family this December in Utah. We had the commitment ceremony several years ago here in Florida because honestly we had given up on our state and the rest of the nation. Little did we know that marriage equality would move so fast or we might have waited. I am just as excited this time, as I was last however this time it is for real! No more having to carry papers claiming we are each other’s health care surrogates. No more wondering what would happen if the other ended up in intensive care without proper documentation. No more filing single on income tax returns. No more having to legally tick single on every form and application. What is mine will be his and what is his will be mine. We will finally have those 1000+ rights that others enjoy or take for granted every day. Thank you to all who have supported us and so many like us all these years. We obviously still have work to do but I can’t even fathom that we have come this far. #marriageequality
