One never knows whos reading. Nine months ago...as i remember...I was still writing Jewish-themed (Thursday) Top 10 Lists for a site called jewocity (not my site). My final list for them was Top 10 Songs from Fiddler on the Roof. As with a lot of these lists, it was hard to limit them to ten, and once there, to rank them. I received a voicemail from someone yesterday asking me to call him back...no other context, but a first name and a garbled last name. We missed each other another couple times, and then he reached me. He wanted to know where he could buy a Top 10 Songs from Fiddler cd. Hmmm...I had just found songs on Youtube to post next to my write-up...and recommended the usual sources, like amazon. From there, we enjoyed a nice little conversation. Hes an 86-year-old man...seems like a great guy...who grew up in Brooklyn, used to run a hotel in the Borscht Belt and hes now in a retirement community in North Carolina.
