One of my DPRAC volunteers told me about encountering many young people who didnt vote as he door-knocked. He had some great ideas for ways to fix it, and Im going to take him up on them. On another note, could this have anything to do with laws in the states in play that disallow student IDs, move polling places away from campuses, limit early voting and threaten students with loss of financial aid if they vote near their schools? Hmm... I wonder. And finally, theres the problem of lack of star power in local and statewide races. We really have to engage young voters for our civic health.
