One of my favorite books is Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman. A story about a special girl and only survivor of a family with the magical gift of opening doors, portals anywhere the heart desired. Her loved ones were hunted down, one by one, until she was the only left. Another one of those moments where I connected intimately with a story. I cried reading it. I was able to predict the story before the plot unfolded. You know, last weekend my grandma showed up in one of my cousins Instagram pictures. Clear as day.
