One of my first jobs was at the old Red Barn or also known as the Grogan and Hall grocery store. One day while I was sacking some groceries, an old gentleman came in toting a 12 gauge shot gun and ask if Mr. Hall was there. The checker and I didnt know if he was there to shoot Mr. Hall or what but, I went the office door and told Mr. Hall that there was a guy there with a shot gun looking for him. Mr. Hall got up and kind of looked around the corner at the guy and asked if there was a problem. The man said, This shot gun I believe used to belong to your Grandfather. I bought it from him years ago and I thought you might want it. Mr. Halls color began to come back in his face and I could see he was breathing a sigh of relief. He told the guy he had really scared him and the guy said, I guess I should have left the gun in the truck till after I came in and told you about it. They had a good laugh about it and Mr. Hall took the old shot gun and thanked the guy. That old shot gun was a break down model and was so worn out it wouldnt hardly close. Didnt matter, Mr. Hall was glad to have it.
