One of my grooms to his bride about the stellar importance of holding hands, awake and asleep: "I like the color of sunlight when you’re lying in bed, drifting gently through the leaves of a tree outside your window when it’s not quite time to crawl out from under the covers and face the day yet. But the best thing is when you roll over and find a hand in bed beside you that you can hold gently while you sleep, because you are instantly reminded again that all that chaos that lives in your dreams in the night and all of the mess that happens in the world in the day happens while, the whole time, you have a very important someone facing those same adventures and struggles with you.
