One of my most favourite poem Yene o bag olaydi by M. Mushfig is translated into English.. “Oh, that house by the sea” (/Yenə o bağ olaydı) Oh, that house by the sea, where I wish gathered again You would run from the mundane And we following our fate, delighted with destiny, Would be neighbors blessedly Oh, that house by the sea, when frequently seeing you Revives Pegasus anew Novel song, inspiration every day that I live on I would write from dust to dawn Darling, here is thread of fate, is it thinner than your hair? Do you feel love in the air? Oh, that house by the sea, we would visit you again Talk and laugh, forget the pain Darling’s bashful, timid glances touching bowels of my soul I am happiest of all Precious secrets we’d discuss, what makes our souls glister Of your brother and your sister Running from sensitive talk, preferring to redirect You would quarrel and deject But secretly pure heart would beat parallel with mine Swarthy princess in her prime This spring differs from the rest, this spring brings me much more joy Empty heart is a decoy In each corner there is hope, each horizon hides a dream People happier, agleam Feelings much more delicate, thoughts deep, sophisticated Hearts cooler, less frustrated People having high demands, taking pride in every act Matters that used to distract Have been furtherly resolved, people filled with joy and blest This spring differs from the rest! Oh, that house by the sea, one more time sandy coast, Waters would have me engrossed I would sink into the waves that are curly like your hair Be inspired unaware Seeing waves embrace your body, fine art at its best form My soul - an eye of a storm Resulting in raging gales, envy and jealosy born, A loving heart being torn I would dive into the waves, have that memory erased Hold you tight around your waist Drifting would be our dreams in the ocean of true love Over the waves and above Sail of inspiration, your hair would be of gold Those waters would not be bold What a good poem this is, what a scenery today Caspian is here to stay In Buzovna I would climb little cliffs and rocks with smile Enjoy the view for a while In the sky stars shining bright, they look tuliplike tonight All over spreading the light Similar to drops of dew splashing everywhere around With the soulmate I found Listening to pretty sound, ancient waters sing a song Nature performing along What a pleasant feeling is wondering along the coast When the weather’s hot the most Every morning souls are filled, feeling tenderest of all Our senses overflow Waters flow around your image, seeing it brings joy and peace This poem is my release Ascend similar to waves, descend just like they all do At times, refrain from view Every wave reminds me of neighing horse of whitest breed Like this life we live, indeed Oh, that house by the sea, in the land of love and glee In the shade of willow tree Sitting on the sands of pearl together with you, my friend We would see the summer end Filled with pleasure and delight our earthly days would pass Similar to fullest glass, Between the leaves in the dark where the night watching intently Fondling your hair gently Would be combing it with care, beautiful as usual Do you know how beautiful? Your hands holding mine tight, eyes gazing without fear My words hanging in the ear Of your spotless, pure soul like an earring of gold Till the day that we grow old. This spring I expect my friends will be luckier than ever Honest, loyal men forever With all sails set will be exploring furthest places New souls and lives and faces They’d be sailing heavens and repeatedly overcome Lords of clouds they’d become Flying into tomorrow, flying as a believer, Into the void of ether At one time I wanted to, as if shadow dull and gray, Live my life into decay But now happy I will be, only in the land of free Where the world will cheer for me. Oh, that house by the sea, when I wish gathered again You would run from the mundane And we following our fate, delighted with destiny, Would be neighbors blessedly Oh, that house by the sea, when frequent contacts with you Revive Pegasus anew A new song, inspiration every day that I live on I would write from dust to dawn Darling, here is thread of fate, is it thinner than your hair? Do you feel love in the air? (Translated by Kamal Hasanov)
