One of my most special and accidental friend, had just left us. We befriended each other years ago for the most bizarre reason : we had a common interest in lobbying for our favourite CLP lecturer Mariette Peters to become a High Court judge. We both started a Facebook page for Mariette Peters two years ago, and had since conceived many plans on how to make her an influential celebrity. That was the beginning of our weird friendship. Lateron, we realized that we werent that common afterall apart from our Make Mariette a judge dream. We had very distinct political affiliation and beliefs. So much so that we are almost at the opposing sides for most issues. But what makes him unique, is his courage a to admit mistake, and willingness to listen and empathize. We argued about human rights, rule of law, democracy, over the years, often disagreeing with each others opinion. However, that didnt sour our friendship. It made us respect each other even more. He is definitely a passionate Malaysian and his passing at such a tender age is undoubtably a great loss to our country. ErnNian Yaw, the news of your passing came as an utter shock to me and I find it hard to digest. I pray that you would rest in peace. We will meet eventually, till then, take care.
