One of my special interests has been science and in particular, - TopicsExpress

One of my special interests has been science and in particular, the human mind (and why it can be so different). Its led me down some interesting pathways over my life, much to my own surprise (ask me about it sometime!). However, there have always been those Ive encountered who accept blindly where things are, without any question or consideration that it is incomplete or misinterpreted. Once leading scholars and scientists condemned those mistaken enough to believe the world was round. As the DSM-V has shifted the categorisation of Aspergers, so time does with understanding and comprehension. Eratosthenes and Ptolemy had opposition from groups telling them their ideas were way off... Then the world later used their theories for centuries to come. Many thought Albert Einstein was a social weirdo, and yet his work is still used significantly. Some may wonder why people like myself spend so much time advocating for Aspergers? Because 1, I live it every day of my life. 2, I encounter people who are ignorant about it every day of my life. 3, I see so much room for improvement from where society sees Aspergers and where those who live it are at and want to do everything I can to shorten that bridge. 4, Im fortunate enough to have ADHD as well as high-functioning autism, and know that there are many other Aspies and Autis that could use more support from a more-accepting world, and I want to help where I best can. Nobody knows where the autism yardstick will be in 100 years, though I feel with people questioning the status-quo, we will progress further, in faster time - Andrew
