One of my two least favorite days of the year--when you have to - TopicsExpress

One of my two least favorite days of the year--when you have to verify or reset all the clocks and devices for the time change. For once I didnt bother with any of them before I went to bed. To my amazement one of two so called atomic devices reset properly and one of two thermosets. Still, that meant resetting nine different devices. Just as I sat down with a second cup of coffee, while making a mental note to remember to reset the automatic RDS the next time I get in the car, the grandfather clock just struck the nine oclock hour. Darn missed at least one and being weight driven, getting that one to reset properly and accurately will probably take several adjustments of the hands. Now all I have to do is change the smoke and CO detector batteries. Guess who forgot to buy nine volt batteries. Oh dont forgot the batteries in your electric clocks that keep the time during power failures. You never think about those until they are needed. Another thought just crossed my mind. Will an electric alarm alarm during a power failure? Probably not and definitely not if you havent changed the battery since you last had a power outage. Made myself a second note--check to see if any new appliances and clocks can be purchased with some feature that will reset time using a signal from the power grid. I need to look on the brighter side. I could be one of those poor souls, about 60,000 here in NC, per the TWC 24 news channel, who still do not power restored from the Thuraday/Friday ice storm.
