One of our candidate for the Ibn Sina Award........ Hammad Aslam attended UGA as an undergraduate student majoring in Chemistry and now is a successful 3rd year medical student at GHSU. In may 2009, Hammad and his family were returning from a trip to his future medical schools through a rain storm when suddenly the got involved in a car accident. That accident changed Hammads life for ever and left him paralyzed from the waist down. Undeterred with an implacable determination to continue the pursuit of his dream to become a doctor , Hammad overcame adversity and now is a successful medical student. When you ask Hammad what the biggest lesson he learned from his experience, he would tell you to value time and adversity.
