One of the best parts of rescue is when we get updates from our adoptive homes! We just got this from the family that adopted Norman back in 2012: I have been meaning to reach out and update you on Norman for quite a while and then realized we have now had him over 2 years and can’t believe how time has flown! Norman has really been such a great addition to our family. I reached out to the trainer you recommended after Norman came to live with us and she gave me some great training tips and spent time with us so we could incorporate Norman into the family and learn to proactively control such a strong (physically and willed) dog. Now we can’t remember what life was like before Norman, he is great with the kids and they love him so much and he really understands his place in our home. He has mellowed over the last 2 years and I’d like to think some of that is that he realizes we are his family for the long haul and we’re not giving him up. I really can’t imagine not having him here, he is such a sweetie. His favorite place is our couch and even if there is only a foot of space between people he will hop up and snuggle in to make his space. He has won over my entire extended family- he has been told he is a welcome houseguest many times and my cousin told me he convinced her son (who was formally very afraid of dogs) that he now wants a dog at their house too. I attached some pictures from over the last 2 years and you’ll see my youngest, Logan, just loves to snuggle up with Norman on the couch- he calls him his “Normie Bear” and they are the best of friends. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to adopt Norman!!
