One of the (dis?)advantages of being an impresario is extremely talented musicians often ask for gigs that I would love to present but just do not have the bandwidth or facility to do it. Heres where you come in. Do you have a home large enough to accommodate 20-30+ patrons? Its called a house concert. The basic idea is you invite friends and neighbors, they bring food for a pot luck dinner or desert (or however you want to manage it); 100% of their $ donations go to the musician. The homeowner customarily puts the artist(s) up for the night as well. Traveling musicians who command a high guarantee in commercial clubs are often willing to play a house concert for a lower amount due to the fact that they do not have to pay for a hotel and restaurant meals. And they prefer to playing to an intimate audience. If this idea appeals to you contact me (I have three top-shelf artists looking for gigs between December and March) and/or join New England House Concert Network - https://facebook/groups/234172836638501 - is open to house concert presenters, patrons and artists in New England and contiguous states and provinces. Our goals are to: 1) increase public awareness of this wonderful art form that supports local and traveling musicians, and 2) encourage presenters to work together to block book artists.
