One of the families on whose home I worked last week in New Jersey invited our group to come back and visit any time. In telling the story, In was reminded of a similar invitation I made offhand in an Accrington, England, pub about 25 years ago. A chap introduced himself to me, could tell I was from the States, and said he was considering making a trip there to promote himself and his ability to make sound effects with his mouth/voice. I told him if he ever got to Pittsburgh, to look me up. About three months later, starting my senior year at college, I got a call from my mom asking about some guy from England whod called and said hed been invited to stay. I forgot at first, but recalled and was astounded that hed taken me up on it (although he was a little kooky, so maybe it shouldnt have been a surprise.) My folks, being warm and kind souls, let him stay with them for about a week, during which time he appeared on some local radio shows and the like. Today, Simon leads ghost walks and other tourism activities, but still creates his sounds.
