One of the greatest forms of deception the enemy is using to confuse the churches and cast conflicting ambiguity on the scriptures is WRONG EMPHASIS. Yes the Bible says in 1 John 17 that as He is so are we (as Jesus is a mediator of GODS Love so are we also ). This scripture has been twisted to mean that believers have entered into their rest, and are exactly like as Christ is now, in His glorified state. 1 Peter 1:4;and we have a priceless inheritance--an inheritance that is KEPT in HEAVEN for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. How can we be fully like Christ when the scriptures says our inheritance is in Heaven? How can we be fully like Christ when we are still subject to change and decay? Jesuss perfection was in the spirit as it was physical. How can we claim a spiritual perfection that doesnt bear fruits in the physical and say that is being like Christ??? Didnt the scripture say it clearly that until His second coming when we see Him face to face that we would be changed in the twinkle of an eye to be like Him? 1 Corinthians 13:12 1 John 3:2 Revelations 22:4 Romans 8:23; And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a FORETASTE OF FUTURE GLORY, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, WAIT with eager HOPE for the day when GOD will give us our FULL RIGHTS AS HIS ADOPTED CHILDREN, including the new bodies HE has promised us. All of these scriptures bear witness to the fact that we arent completely like Jesus yet, but we shall at His second coming.
