One of the most important revelations Ive had as Ive gotten older is that our opinion has no bearing on Gods truth! That sounds a little harsh. That sounds really simple. It sounds like a no brainer. But if we are honest its a lot more difficult to live it out in our lives. The fact is we can believe something, justify it, not feel as if we are doing anything wrong, even carry a banner for it. And guess what? We can still be wrong! Why? How is that possible? Its because of an unyielding spirit to Gods word. The fact is, we constantly impose our slanted morality on a perfect God. We frequently question his wisdom. We pervert his plan for our fleshly preferences. We find it next to impossible to submit to his authority. Rebellion is in our nature. Arrogance is in our wisdom. Our sin nature makes it near impossible to wrap our brain around someone that doesnt have an ulterior motive. We struggle to believe in someone that wont let us down, someone that has our best interests at heart. Its impossible to comprehend how our perception of right and wrong can be so different from our Creators. But it is! Its the difference between light and dark. Its as far as the east is from the west. We can often feel as if God has abandoned us. The fact is, it was us that turned left when God was going right. He is always running to us as we are running away. His perfection is beyond reproach and understanding, but it is the Truth! And its a truth that we can always rely on. He is the same yesterday, today and forever! We can depend on that, we can depend on his word, we can depend on his promises and we can depend on him! For those who submit to him we should find peace in that. But for those who dont they will find nothing but confusion, resentment and unrest! As a people we must realize it is not our will but his. It is not what we feel and believe should be, but what he has set forth with his unchanging word! It always has been and always will be Him! May Gods peace and love surround you!
