One of the things I realized while living in the Bay Area is that during our commute we dont recognize each other. We are all reading, listening to music, or on the phone. We dont say excuse me, please, or thank you! We rush on and off bumping into people. If we happen to look up and make eye contact with someone we look away quickly in an awkward attempt to make someone believe that you werent just looking at them. We seriously look like robots not people! However, today I saw a man get out of his seat and direct a blind man to sit down. His suitcase fell on a womans leg and he apologized. We need to be more like this man, people!!!! We need to recognize others, smile, and use manners! I dont want to be a robot!!!! Actually, I refuse to be!
