One of the things that I truly feel is important when raising a child is to have them develop their own opinion. Listen to others, absorb their opinion, relate to their experiences and form their own opinion. I want my kids to be leaders of themselves. Not followers of their friends opinions and influences. Even if its their own parents...like me (but I have all the answers, lol). But their opinion must be based on facts and experiences to make it matter. More importantly to research a question that bothers them to come to a realistic result. Too many times we rely on anothers opinion about someone else that we deny that person an opportunity to present themselves in a light that is their truth. And most importantly our opinion of them because weve seen first hand of who they truly are. I learned to give others the benefit of the doubt before I take another persons opinion before i get to know someone. It may change your life. Ill let you burn me once, but not twice because I learned. Just a thought.
