One of the worlds earliest surviving Christian charms has been found buried in the vaults of the The University of Manchesters John Rylands Library containing some of the first recorded references to key Bible passages including The Last Supper and ‘manna from heaven’. The verses are written on the back of an ancient receipt and many of the words are misspelt, suggesting it was made by an ordinary villager rather than a high priest.
