One of this weekends migrating species was the Vesper Sparrow, a beautifully marked sparrow with a distinctive white eye-ring and chestnut-colored shoulder patch. When the fly off, you can generally identify them with the flash of white on their tail feathers. Hoping that you get to see this species as it continues its migration at least here in N. Illinois.
