One of those days when you just have to laugh! Got off to a good start when half-way through my music test the music ground to a halt... One restart later and a very puffed Ellie and Tyler exited with the mentality Phew, we survived!. Then to the scoreboard and that moment when you think: Oh, was it THAT bad?! We were dead last and things just didnt seem to add up on the scoresheet. Mum cracked it after ten minutes of staring in a puzzled way at the piece of green paper. I didnt have a mark for one of the criteria! Just missed off completely! Although the judge was tracked down and a mark added it didnt make a great deal of difference, so I, in my infinite wisdom, have declared that test null and void and Im going to pretend it didnt happen. Still, we got about 10 minutes of riding in the main arena- silver linings, eh? Oh, and we did manage sixth place... Out of six. Never mind! Onwards and upwards! On to Novice 39, in a new arena (not something that usually bodes well). However, Tyler was fantastic! He focused and relaxed (mostly, apart from when he thought there were monsters hiding behind the door) and I couldnt have been prouder of him. And then the score: N39: 67.74%, 2nd place Restricted, 3rd place Overall. We were a gnats crotchet (1 mark!) from winning the Restricted section outright :D We got a 9.0! And the words better marks to come appeared at the bottom of the sheet... In short, Im on cloud nine right now and I dont care that everything that could have gone wrong went wrong in my DTM. We were second in the warm-up test for the Regionals, in a very strong field! We have really come a long way :) Ellie xxx
