One of those random thoughts that just suddenly occur. I am a pet mom presently, to 2 LRCP senior alums. Quincy (13 1/2 yo) and Gabby Gracie (10 y). I also lead a life where I am go, Go, and Occasionally GO almost all the time. All this being said -- my critters, my family and my friends are first and foremost in my life -- even being self employed. The highlights of everyday are my 3 or more long walks with my pups (except when it rains .. then it is Hell No .. we wont go). We cover many miles -- and together, we solve many problems -- many times over. Today, however, was one of those reality check moments. I learn lessons from my time with my dogs all the time. Todays lesson -- (Simon and Garfunkel moment -- slow down, you move too fast, ya got to make the morning [moments] last. This one is for all you yellow Lab families -- especially the blonds in our midst. My black lab GG I can see the gray ... BUT on Q-Bear ... today ... it finally hit me -- I can actually see the gray around his eyes, on his muzzle ... on his paws. I have spent 3 1/2 years with this old guy and it never occurred to me (or perhaps I just do not want to admit it ... time is moving way too fast). I could not easily see it so therefore it was not happening. Yes ... lessons learned -- make the time -- create the memories -- time flies way too quickly ... Ya got to make those moments last.
