One of two Twin-spotted rattlesnakes we saw today on our hike up - TopicsExpress

One of two Twin-spotted rattlesnakes we saw today on our hike up Mt. Wrightson. They were both in the Talus pile just up form Bellows Spring. This one was right next to the trail and the other one was in a crevice about 6 feet up the slope. They are really small snakes rarely longer than 24 inches. Their rattles are very small and sound more like insects than the larger rattlesnakes. They are almost the same color as the rocks and super difficult to detect. Luckily they are super shy and not at all aggressive.
