One political rally in Karachi and this is all that I received via Whatsapp: Please forward as you see fit: Forwarded as received: The traffic control plan for Pakistan People’s Party public meeting being held on October 18th near the Mazar-e-Quaid has been finalized. The vehicles arriving for the gathering would be parked some two kilometers away from venue of the meeting. Open spaces available around three to four kilometers radius of the venue would be utilized for the parking of vehicles. Separate parking places would be designated for vehicles belonging to each of the districts and the district leadership of the party would be duly informed in advance about their respective these parking spaces. Reception camps at two entry points to the city, Ghaghar Phatak and Kathore are being set up for the vehicles coming from the upcountry. The participants would be made to walk from the designated parking lots to the venue of the meeting owing to security concerns. For avoiding a gridlock in the city, arrangements had been devised be made so that caravans from upcountry should not reach Karachi simultaneously but one by one. Special trains are also running for the event and it is expected that areas around Cantt and City Station shall also face severe traffic disruption. Residents around the venue have been told not to entertain guests after the 16th of Oct for security reasons. All shops within one kilometer radius on MA Jinnah Road and Numaish have also been sealed wef night 15th Oct. Trade will be possible at Guru Mandir and surrounding areas till 16th Oct thereafter all shops shall be sealed till culmination of the public meeting late on 19th Oct. Gurumandir, Numaish ,Lyari National Highway, Gulshan e Hadeed, Super Highway, Safoora Goth , both City and Cantt Stations as well as Sh e Faisal are expected to face an extremely high surge of traffic on the day of the meeting. A ceremony is also scheduled on the Sh e Faisal at Karsaz where a monument in remembrance of the people killed at the blast site will be unveiled by Bilawal Bhutto which is also going to add to the traffic woes. One track of Sh e Faisal shall be open to the public on the day oif the meeting however even that track is expected to clog up at specific nodal points. Discretion in any move around the city on the day of the meeting is advised. In view of threats received from the terrorist groups and intel reports any untoward incident on the day of the public meeting cannot ruled out. Stay safe!
