One thing that baffles me is that as Nigerians, we pray fervently to God to punish corrupt leaders but when God answers the prayer, we fail to know or see. One of such ways is the gale of impeachment notices that are sweeping across Nigeria’s political landscape. As usual a lot of us have viewed this through the partisan lens by saying that it is the President or Presidency that is sponsoring it. Those in this school of thought have not deemed it fit to ask Gov. Nyako not to invade the service of impeachment notice nor ask him to appear before the impeachment committee to clear himself of the allegations leveled against him by the State House of Assembly. The common saying that “He who comes to equity must come with clean hands” did not make any sense to Gov. Nyako and his supporters. Is Gov. Nyako guilty as charged or not? The answer would have laid on his bold appearance before the committee. But he failed. I am a fan of APC Logo which depicts “change”, and the wind of change is currently sweeping across the country. Therefore, let us embrace it without looking for scapegoat. Change does not leave things as they are; it changes things. Power (Political Power) is about getting others to do what they would not ordinarily do or getting others not to do what they would ordinarily do. If APC had its way, Jonathan would have been removed by now. And since they could not, the other way round would have to be the case. When a man with pistol threatens a man with AK47, do you know the result? Your gaze is as good as mine.
